Esempi:
- "I wake up at 7." — Mi sveglio alle 7.
- "She goes to work by bus." — Lei va al lavoro in autobus.
- "We usually have lunch at 1 p.m."

— Mi lavo i denti ogni mattina.
- Azioni regolari (giornaliere, settimanali): "She goes to the gym twice a week." — Va in palestra due volte a settimana.
- Programmi fissi (orari di lavoro, lezioni): "School starts at 8:30." — La scuola inizia alle 8:30.
- Stati o preferenze permanenti (spesso con verbi stativi): "I like coffee."

Esempi:
- I/You/We/They work. — Io/Tu/Noi/Loro lavorano (forma base: work).
- He/She/It works. — Lui/Lei lavora (aggiungi -s: works).

Regole per la terza persona singolare (he / she / it)

- Aggiungi -s: "work" → "works" (He works).
- Verbi che terminano in -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -z: aggiungi -es: "watch" → "watches", "fix" → "fixes".
- Verbi che terminano in consonante + y: cambia y in -ies: "study" → "studies" (carry → carries).
- Verbi che terminano in vocale + y: aggiungi solo -s: "play" → "plays".
- Alcune forme irregolari:
- "have" → "has" (He has breakfast at 8.)
- "do" → "does" (pronuncia diversa: /dʌz/), ma nello scritto resta "does".

Esempi:
- "He studies English every evening." — Studia inglese ogni sera.
- "She goes to school at 8." — Va a scuola alle 8.

Il verbo "to be" e le eccezioni

Il verbo to be è irregolare:
- I am, You are, He/She/It is, We/You/They are.

Esempi:
- "I am usually tired in the morning." — Di solito sono stanco al mattino.
- "She is at work from 9 to 5." — Lei è al lavoro dalle 9 alle 17.

Forme negative e interrogative

Negativa (con do / does)

Negativa generale:
- Soggetto + do/does + not + verbo (forma base).
- Contrazioni comuni: don't = do not, doesn't = does not.

Esempi:
- "I don't (do not) eat breakfast early." — Non faccio colazione presto.
- "He doesn't (does not) like early mornings."

(Sbagliato: "He doesn't likes" → Corretto: "He doesn't like".)

Domande (Yes/No questions) e Wh- questions

Struttura Yes/No:
- Do / Does + soggetto + verbo (base)?

Esempi:
- "Do you wake up early?" — Ti svegli presto?
- "Does she work on Saturdays?" — Lavora il sabato?

Wh- questions:
- Wh-word + do/does + soggetto + verbo (base)?

Esempi:
- "What time do you get up?" — A che ora ti alzi?
- "Where does he go to school?" — Dove va a scuola?

Risposte brevi (short answers):
- "Yes, I do." / "No, I don't." — "Sì, lo faccio." / "No, non lo faccio."
- "Yes, he does." / "No, she doesn't."

Indicativamente:
- always = sempre (100%)
- usually = di solito (80%)
- often = spesso (60%)
- sometimes = qualche volta (50%)
- rarely/seldom = raramente (10-20%)
- never = mai (0%)

Posizione degli avverbi:
- In frasi affermative con verbi normali: l'avverbio va prima del verbo principale: "I usually have breakfast at 8." — Di solito faccio colazione alle 8.
- Con il verbo to be: l'avverbio va dopo il verbo: "I am usually tired." — Sono di solito stanco.
- In frasi negative con do/does: spesso l'avverbio si mette dopo l'auxiliary: "She doesn't often eat breakfast."
- Espressioni di tempo come "every day", "on Mondays", "in the morning" di solito vanno alla fine o all'inizio per enfasi: "I go to the gym every day." / "Every morning I go for a run." — Vado in palestra ogni giorno. / Ogni mattina faccio una corsa.

Esempi:
- "He always makes his bed." — Fa sempre il letto.
- "Do you often study in the evening?" — Studi spesso la sera?
- "They never drink coffee." — Non bevono mai caffè.

Errori comuni da evitare

- Non aggiungere -s dopo does/doesn't: "She doesn't like" (CORRETTO), non "She doesn't likes" (SBAGLIATO).
- Usare la forma base con do/does: "Do you like coffee?" (CORRETTO), non "Do you likes coffee?" (SBAGLIATO).
- Dimenticare la -s alla terza persona singolare: "He go to work" (SBAGLIATO) → "He goes to work" (CORRETTO).
- Posizione degli avverbi: evitare "I go always to school." (SBAGLIATO) → "I always go to school." (CORRETTO).
- Uso errato di 'have' nelle negazioni: non dire "He doesn't has any money." (SBAGLIATO) → "He doesn't have any money." (CORRETTO).
- Confondere simple present e present continuous: per abitudini usa simple present. (SBAGLIATO: "I am going to work every day." → CORRETTO: "I go to work every day.")

- Simple present: abitudini e routine regolari. "I take the bus to work."
"I am taking the bus this week because my car is broken."

Esempi a confronto:
- "I read every evening." (abitudine) — Leggo ogni sera.
- "I'm reading a book at the moment."
